How to get from Gardermoen Airport to Oslo Central Station

Many visitors ask us how to get from Gardermoen Airport to Oslo Central Station or Oslo Bus Terminal, which are just a short walk from our Oslo flats and rooms for rent. 

Please note there are two airports outside Oslo:

  • Gardermoen (main airport) 
  • Torp Airport

There are several convenient options to travel from Gardermoen Airport (OSL) to the city center. It's recommended to buy tickets in advance.  Purchase tickets here or compare and read more about the different options below.

1. By Train


For most travellers, the most convenient way to get from Gardermoen Airport to Oslo Central Station is by train. There are two options, the Airport Express train and VY (Norwegian State Railways: 

Flytoget (Airport Express Train)

  • Duration: Approximately 20 minutes.
  • Frequency: Every 10 minutes.
  • Cost: Around NOK 210 (varies slightly).
  • Departure Point: The train station is located directly beneath the airport terminal.

Vy (Norwegian State Railways)

  • Duration: Approximately 23 minutes.
  • Frequency: Every 10-20 minutes.
  • Cost: Around NOK 110-130.
  • Departure Point: The train station is located directly beneath the airport terminal.

2. By Bus


For travellers with heavy luggage, the  Airport Bus can be a convenient alternative as our Oslo Airbnb Apartments are just a 5 minute walk from the Oslo Main Bus Terminal.

Flybussen (Airport Bus)

  • Duration: Approximately 40-50 minutes.
  • Frequency: Every 20 minutes.
  • Cost: Around NOK 179 if purchased online, slightly more if bought on the bus.
  • Departure Point: The bus departs from just outside the airport terminal.

3. By Taxi

To get grom Gardermoen Airport to Oslo Central station by Taxi is a convenient option for travellers, especially for those having heavy luggage, but keep in mind taxis in Oslo are expensive. Here's some information about the Airport taxi service: 


  • Duration: Approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic.
  • Cost: Around NOK 700-1000 (prices can vary, and it's advisable to check with the taxi company for a fixed rate).
  • Availability: Taxis are available outside the arrivals area of the terminal.

4. By Car
