What is the Airbnb Ambassador Program?

01/08/2023

The Airbnb Ambassador Program links experienced and successful Airbnb Superhosts with new property owners, guiding them through the advantages of hosting and ensuring a successful start.

Superhost Ambassadors fall under the classification of "non-exclusive independent Airbnb contractors." This means they are not official Airbnb employees.

Who is eligible to be an Airbnb Ambassador?

To become part of the program, you must satisfy the following conditions:

  • You must hold the status of a Superhost.
  • Your Airbnb account must be in good standing.

Airbnb will conduct a check every three months to verify continued compliance with these requirements. If your account is no longer in good standing or if you lose your Superhost status, there's no need for concern. You will have the opportunity to reapply to join the Ambassador program next quarter.

If you fulfill these criteria, you will also need to agree to the Terms and Conditions, which include:

  • Ambassadors must maintain confidentiality regarding all data about the new hosts shared by Airbnb.
  • Ambassadors are prohibited from making any representations or commitments on behalf of the Airbnb platform.
  • Ambassadors are also restricted from providing specialized advice on legal or tax matters.

How does the Airbnb Superhost Ambassador program work?

The Airbnb Superhost Ambassador program operates as a personalized mentoring initiative. Ambassadors are entrusted with the responsibility of guiding new hosts and equipping them with tools to make them succeed with their rental business.

In contrast to conventional affiliate or referral marketing campaigns, this program entails more extensive involvement.  Airbnb anticipates your active participation in onboarding and training your aspiring hosts. Your role as a mentor extends until your mentees secure their initial reservations.

Examples of how Ambassdors help new hosts:

  • Improving property listings.
  • Providing recommendations regarding photo selection.
  • Offering guidance on setting and adjusting nightly rates.
  • Sharing best practices for property cleanliness.
  • Providing overall feedback on their hosting approach.
